Every year I get asked about Texas Bluebonnets minis, every year I offer them. I LOVE our State Flower. They smell and look amazing. If I am being 100% honest they stress me out so much because I never know when they will bloom, their blooming period is anytime between March and May, but when they finally decide to show themselves it makes it all worth it. They were stunning this year too! Here is some information on these guys for anyone that is interested.
The sessions were so successful this year! It was a tad chilly on Friday, but for Saturday and Sunday we had some amazing light, even with the heavy rolling clouds. I still can’t believe it didn’t rain that weekend. I think it was projected at 90% chance that whole weekend. 🙂 I also got really lucky in the timing of these sessions! I originally was going to do them at a different location but I was holding out hope that this field would not disappoint me. It is literally my favorite field. The sun sets behind the trees, the field is HUUUUUGE. The flowers actually wrap around the entire square of land and it handles the 100’s of people and photographers that are out here at the same time. You’d never know how popular it is. So I drove by this field the week before and there was NOTHING! The I drove by again on Sunday night, no flowers, then again on Tuesday, you guessed it, no flowers. I decided to go one more time on Wednesday and hallelujah they were there and in full effect! I could not have chosen a better weekend to have these in my opinion. Especially because a huge storm came through that next weekend and trashed the flowers 🙁
Our amazing turnout included lots of kids, cute babies, families and even some mom and me sessions. I think this is always a classic session that everyone should do every year! You can dress casually with denim or you can wear fancy shmancy dresses and it will still look great! You can’t lose.
Thanks to all of you that scheduled for the Texas Bluebonnets and came out! I LOVE every single session and the images we created!
